Refund Policy
1. Try before you buy
Every account starts with a 3-day trial that requires no credit card. You can use the full feature set during the trial. We strongly recommend exploring the app, importing a sample menu, and generating a test QR before subscribing — this prevents most refund situations.
2. 14-day money-back guarantee
If you start a paid subscription and decide within 14 calendar days of the first paid charge that VerifyEat isn't a fit, we will refund that charge in full. No paperwork, no interrogation.
To request a refund within the 14-day window, email hello@verifyeat.com from the address associated with your subscription. Include your order ID or the email address used for payment. We aim to issue the refund within 5 business days; the time it takes to appear on your statement depends on your card issuer or bank (typically 3–10 business days).
3. After the 14-day window
Once 14 days have passed since your first paid charge, monthly subscription fees become non-refundable. You may still cancel at any time; cancellation stops future renewals. You retain access until the end of the current billing period.
4. Exceptions where we will refund anyway
We will issue a refund outside the standard window in these specific cases:
- Service unavailability. If a critical feature you rely on is unavailable for more than 7 consecutive days due to a problem on our side, we'll pro-rate or fully refund the affected period at our discretion.
- Duplicate or accidental charges. Always refunded immediately on report.
- Failed delivery. If you cannot install or run VerifyEat due to a confirmed compatibility issue we have not warned you about (e.g., your macOS version is supported per our docs but the app crashes on launch and we cannot fix it), we'll refund the most recent charge.
- Statutory rights. Where mandatory consumer-protection law in your country grants stronger refund rights, we honour those rights regardless of this policy.
5. What is not refundable
- Subscription fees older than the most recent billing period (we don't reach back into older months).
- AI translation usage that exceeded fair-use limits — those are usage caps, not credits.
- Charges you made via a payment method other than the one on file (we can only refund to the original method).
6. Chargebacks
Please contact us before initiating a chargeback. A chargeback costs us a fee even when it is unwarranted, and unwarranted chargebacks may result in account suspension. We aim to resolve every reasonable dispute within a few business days — direct contact is faster, fairer, and free.
7. How to cancel
You can cancel your subscription at any time:
- Through your Apple ID subscription settings for Mac App Store subscriptions.
- By opening Apple's refund and purchase-support flow at reportaproblem.apple.com for App Store refund requests.
Cancellation does not delete your local data on your Mac. You can keep using the data you've created and re-import it later if you change your mind.
