We're a small team designing digital menu tools that respect both restaurants and their guests.
Why we built this
Most restaurants we know still keep allergen disclosures on a printed sheet behind the bar. Servers grab it when a guest asks. The sheet is out of date by Tuesday lunch. Tourists don't ask because they don't share a language. The whole arrangement is bad for everyone — guests who deserve clarity, kitchens that get interrupted, and owners who want to be compliant.
VerifyEat is the tool we wanted to exist: build the menu once on macOS, push it to the cloud, print one QR code per table, and let every guest read it in their language with allergens crystal-clear.
How we work
- Native first. The macOS app is SwiftUI, sandboxed, signed and notarised by Apple. No Electron wrapper, no Chromium tax on your battery.
- Privacy by default. Your menu data lives on your Mac. The cloud only sees what you explicitly publish. We don't share your data with third parties; we don't run analytics on your kitchen.
- Edge hosting. Customer-facing menus are served from Cloudflare's network — fast everywhere, especially across Europe.
- Plain pricing. Two products, two prices each. No hidden tiers, no per-seat games, no quotes-on-request unless you genuinely have 50 locations.
Where we're based
VerifyEat is operated by PortanX – Catalin Portan from Flurstrasse 24, 3014 Bern, Switzerland. We chose Switzerland for the data-protection regime — your menus, your IP, and your customers' language preferences are all processed under privacy laws among the strictest in the world.
